Dress Code

We encourage our members to dress modestly to avoid attracting unwanted attention to our image.

God made us like a lily flower, our image is esthetically beautiful. However, we do not display the lily in its full blossom when we are out in public, but rather we retract our pedals a bit to show modesty. Below are guidelines to our dress code.

For Female Members:

Here are a few examples:

Top Piece:

  • The neck area is to have no visible sign of cleavage. The neckline of the shirt should be no lower than the picture below.

  • The arm of the shirt should extend half way below the upper arm. A T-shirt or 3/4 sleeve would do. Shoulders and back should be covered.

Bottom Piece:

  • The pants/skirt/dress should cover 6 inches below the knees.

  • Pants should not be too revealing. Yoga pants are not permitted.

Shoes:

  • We wear flat shoes that keep the natural arch of the feet. We avoid shoes with heels for health reasons, because shoes with heels can negatively affect physical health and bodily development. Zero-drop shoes would be ideal. Details provided below.

Hair:

  • No coloring of the hair, we leave the color natural. No hair sprays, perfumes.

Nails:

  • Nails should be trimmed all the way back. Details provided below in this article.

Facial makeups:

  • We suggest our members to avoid wearing makeups and leave our appearance natural.

You can check out the dress code guidelines set by the Mormon Churchmany of their guidelines are in line with our church’s dress codehttps://shorturl.at/i1KZO

For male members:

Hair:

  • Keep a short hair style that’s clean cut. No coloring of the hair.

Beard and mustache:

  • Clean shaved.

Suits and buttoned up shirt with a neck tie are the standardized uniform of the church. We wear it for Sunday service, meetings, professional settings, and other occasions.

Shoes:

Wear shoes that are zero-drop with foot-shaped toe boxes to allow all the toes to be naturally splayed. Avoid shoes with heels that have uneven stack heights, and avoid shoes that have narrow/tight toe boxes.

Our feet are like the root system of a tree. Proper development of the feet can critically affect the posture, balance, nervous system development, physical/athletic performance, agility, and ultimately physical health of the body.

If the roots are not developed properly, the tree will lean, become unbalanced and not develop to its best form. This is especially important for children as their feet are still in the process of developing, we urge parents to have foot-shaped shoes with low stack height for their children from young, and allow them to go barefoot as much as they can. There are a lot of nerves on the bottom of our feet, minimally stacked shoes will allow those nerves to sense the ground so that the body can develop properly.

The goal is to develop feet that have natural splayed toes like the picture above.

For walking and low impact activities, it is best to use low stack height shoes for ground contact and feel. Higher stack height zero-drop shoes may be used for running and harder surface activities.

Nails:

The finger and toe nails should be trimmed all the way back. The reason for this is to expose the nerve endings of all the finger tips to ensure proper development of the body’s peripheral nervous system and accurate mapping of the fingers in the sensory and motor cortex.

Vast amount of the nerves end at the very tip of the fingers right underneath the nails. Properly trimmed nails allow more accurate mapping of our individual fingers to the sensory and motor cortex in the brain. This increases better processing power, which equates to better physical and mental agility, sharpness, and balance. Other benefits include minimizing nervous system diseases.

As shown in the above picture, our fingers comprise only a small percentage of the surface area of our body, but they are allocated with disproportionately large area in the cortex.

Proper trimming of the nails seems trivial at a cursory glance, but this is important and should not be overlooked. This lifestyle habit should especially be applied to children from young, to ensure that their hands and nervous system develop properly as they grow larger. Once the tree matures, it can not be corrected.

The goal is to develop perfectly formed hands with fingers that are straight and relaxed like the pictures below (especially the index finger).
