What Do We Believe about Life After Death?

What do we believe about life after death?

We believe we have a body and a soul. I will speak about each separately.

1. Is there life after death for the body/flesh?

This is a two part answer. From the individual perspective, our body/form/flesh only exists once. After we die/pass on, our body will cease to exist. This body/biocomputer will decay, break down, and decompose. All of our identities, memories, personality will be dissolved along with the dissolution of the body. But from a larger perspective, who we are is actually apart of a larger collective organism which is the galaxy.

In our our belief system, we believe we individual humans are like the cells of the collective organism – the Milky Way galaxy. We believe our Milky Way galaxy is a living organism, and we represent the cells of the galaxy that come and go. Imagine the billions of cells in our human body that die and are replaced by newer cells everyday. The person we see in the mirror is actually made of 50 trillion cells. Every day billions of cells in our body die and are replaced by newer cells, but yet we as the collective body/person remains. Same concept applies in terms of our position to the galaxy – the collective organism. We the individual bodies are the cells of the galaxy that come and go. We are like the cells of the galaxy that get old and die, but ultimately the large organism/the galaxy remains alive. If we look at ourself as the larger collective organism – the galaxy, then we are eternal because every galaxy exists forever in this universe.

So which perspective do we believe is ultimately true? Are we the cells of the galaxy or are we the galaxy the organism? We are both, but ultimately we are the galaxy, and our bodies are just the cells of the galaxy that come and go. We as the galaxy will remain alive forever in existence even after the death of us as the individual cells, so therefore we believe our form is really eternal.

With that said, we as the individual body that we see in the mirror – the unique person we each are with our individual names, identities, and memories only lives once. This body we individually are experiencing from does not live on – it is not permanent. It will cease to exist after we past on. There is no after life for our form/flesh. In other words: this life is it, the person we see in the mirror only exists once.

Some reading this may be seeking for an answer that there is continuation of the body/flesh, and hoping that that we will continue to exist after we die. But that is not the case in our belief system. We only have one life as far as this unique individual form we see in the mirror. Fear of cessation, death, and discontinuation is a natural instinctual response, due to the flight/fight mechanism. Thus, similar to Buddhism, our belief system adopts the teaching of none attachment to the flesh/body because ultimately fear based attachment to the body can lead to suffering.

The old saying that “we’ve got one life to live and we should make the most of it” is true, there is no do-over.

2. Is there life after death for the Soul/Spirit?

We believe our soul is also eternal. We believe we are a spiritual being that takes on form in our body/flesh. We believe our soul at its essence is God/Love – the true self prior to form. Since God is eternal, so therefore we as our souls are eternal.

If our soul is eternal, then what is the experience like? The answer to that is undefined, we don’t know. Even though we believe this belief system is God’s communication, God did not reveal the answer to this topic. Presumably, God didn’t want to tell us because She wants us to find out when we get there.

Note on burial ritual:

After death, the body should be naturally buried in a way that does not interfere with the natural process of decomposition and allow the body to be naturally recycled. The body is to be wrapped in a cloth or placed in a light wooden box with holes in the bottom. The body should be buried within 72 hours after death.

We don’t use tombstone, gravestone, or marker to indicate the deceased. Death should be looked as a natural cycle of life.

Mourning period of three days after the burial where family come together in honor of the passing.
