Our View on Prayer
We encourage our members to integrate prayers into their relationship with the Designer.
We believe this relationship with God reflects our parental relationship with our parents. We believe in the time of need and if appropriate, our Heavenly Parent will order the reality to answer our prayer.
A common question is if God has a plan, by answering our prayer, won’t that throw off Her plan?
This universe (Love Game) is a participatory game. In other words, God allows us to actively shape/influence the outcome, and at the same time Her plan stays fixed. It is paradoxical, but it is true.
We have to understand that this reality/game world She designed allows the coexistence of randomness and destiny (according to Her plan).
We can take a look at the development of our galaxy for example. The entire development process has been random, our planet randomly came together, our human form randomly evolved from a single cell, and our civilizations and cultures randomly organized into the advanced culture we see today.
Everything looks random from our perspective, and yet at the same time, we are randomly evolving toward the form She predesigned/planned.
So yes, this universe – this reality we exist in allows the coexistence of destiny (Her plan) and choice/random/active participation from individuals. She can maintain Her plan and at the same time answer our prayer.
How to pray:
Speak to Her from your heart and open up about your challenge. Ask Her for guidance, ask Her to show you the way, ask Her to put you on the right/correct path. Continue to ask for guidance when the challenge feels overwhelming.
Be aware to pray for things that are inline with Her plan. She is always moving this world toward beauty and harmony. There is a current in which the river (universe) flows, and we should pray for things that are in the direction of that current.
Note that sometimes challenges are necessary for us to take on to overcome, and thus praying to have them go away may not be in our best interest, and thus it may not get prioritized. God often puts obstacles in place for us to strengthen us. Instead, we can pray and ask for wisdom, strength, and guidance to overcome those challenges.
We encourage members to develop a habit of praying first thing in the morning after waking up. It can be a quick simple prayer asking God for guidance for the day and anything on your mind. We also encourage to give gratitude prayer before we eat a meal. For example: “Thank you Heavenly Mother for this food that I’m about to enjoy. May this food nourish my body, energize my body, and heal my body.”
